Please briefly introduce Niedax Schweiz AG.

Niedax Switzerland AG was founded in 2005 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Niedax Group. For over a century, the Niedax Group has been ensuring a safe electrical infrastructure worldwide with its innovations and products. With 2,800 employees at 81 locations in over 30 countries, we pursue the same high quality standards everywhere. The three central pillars of our economic activity are the development and production of cable laying systems, which is our core business, as well as our own steel service centres and distribution.

Which trends or challenges will have a particular impact on your industry in the future – and how is Niedax preparing for them?

Digital transformation for a connected future. At the Niedax Group, we are actively driving forward our digital transformation with our own dedicated division. We continuously evaluate new technologies and innovative tools to make work processes in production and administration more efficient. The use of state-of-the-art software solutions and artificial intelligence plays a central role in this. Thanks to the international expertise within the Niedax Group, we regularly develop new digital business processes and optimise existing ones in order to remain future-oriented.

We have been privileged to count you among our customers since 2011. How did the collaboration come about at that time?

Professional and efficient logistics are essential for us and our customers. On-time and punctual deliveries are among the basic requirements for meeting daily challenges. Since establishing our headquarters in Visp in the canton of Valais, it has been important to develop an economically attractive and high-quality logistics concept that satisfies our electrical wholesalers/partners as well as customers and suppliers throughout Switzerland. We have succeeded in doing this in collaboration with the Planzer team.

What services can we provide for you today?

Planzer handles all domestic transport – from parcel shipments and palletised general cargo to long goods up to 6.5 metres in length. This also includes complex large deliveries, such as complete trailer trucks, which are unloaded by crane on construction sites or, for example, during night-time operations in closed motorway tunnels, depending on requirements.

What are your hopes for future collaboration with Planzer – are there any visions or ideas that we could pursue together?

The future continues to present us with new challenges in the field of logistics, which we must overcome through teamwork and open cooperation. There are still a number of areas where we can work together to expand our network and digital capabilities in order to make our logistics services even more efficient and attractive for our shared customers.
