Together with Galenica, we have launched the largest health logistics network in Switzerland, under the name Health Supply AG. We are therefore combining Galenica’s network competence and our logistics expertise under a single roof. The result? Integrated overall solutions for one of Switzerland’s most important supply sectors.

The supply of the Swiss healthcare system operates according to its own rules: the customers have high expectations, the regulatory requirements are complex and the products are systemically important. Against this background, we have founded Health Supply AG together with Galenica. With this joint venture, we and Galenica aim to make transporting medicines and other products to service providers more efficient and sustainable. And what’s more, Health Supply will scale climate-friendly transport solutions and drive the sustainability ambitions of its two pioneers.

More services, greater efficiency

By setting up Health Supply, we and Galenica are reducing the complexity of logistics in the Swiss healthcare market. With over 20 business units, the Galenica network brings together Switzerland’s most powerful healthcare stakeholders. It offers integrated overall solutions for end consumers, patients, pharmacies, chemists, medical practices, hospitals, retirement and care homes, Spitex, home care, wholesalers, pharmaceutical companies, health insurers and other business partners. Until now, a range of transport firms have been involved in healthcare logistics, complicating coordination efforts and slowing down processes.

Health Supply will improve the efficiency and predictability of logistics, especially in urban areas, as this joint venture expands the Galenica Group’s logistics services. Galenica’s own logistics companies will continue to independently handle current deliveries. However, Health Supply’s transport services will also be available to other market players. These are based on the strict Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards and are fully temperature-controlled.

On behalf of the environment

We and Galenica deliberately designed Health Supply as an innovation platform, where sustainable transport solutions can be developed, tested and implemented, such as alternative drive technologies for delivery vehicles, for example. Galexis is already conducting trials using various drives, such as biogas and electric batteries. We at Planzer have also been using climate-friendly technologies in our vehicles and investing in their ongoing development for years, including their commercial application. Health Supply is tasked with driving the sustainability transformation of both partners, especially with regard to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Shared responsibility

Thanks to this close alliance, we and Galenica are achieving another milestone on our long journey together and taking a major step towards a common future. With Health Supply, we are creating the largest and probably best-connected logistics ecosystem for Swiss healthcare, thereby making a significant contribution to strengthening one of Switzerland’s systemically important pillars for the current and future well-being of business and society.
