Direct democracy, neutrality, federalism. Switzerland’s sound political foundations result in a stable and healthy society. Our colleagues Martina Novak, Head of Sustainability, and Andri Silberschmidt, Secretary of the Board of Directors, are doing their bit – on both a political and a personal level – to ensure that it stays that way.

Our direct democracy enables every individual to play an active role in the political process and help shape decisions. That’s by no means a given elsewhere in the world and it makes Switzerland’s political system unique. Two of our colleagues put their heart and soul into making sure that people in Switzerland benefit from these advantages.

2x Yes for political action

When employees are involved in politics, they have to be flexible and highly organised – and so does their employer. As a Swiss logistics business, we see this extra mile as a service to our society, echoing the role we play in helping to secure supplies for the people of this country through our transport and warehouse logistics. That’s why we support employees in their political commitments – regardless of their role or affiliation. And that’s why we are right behind two of our colleagues who are standing as candidates in the National Council elections on 22 October 2023.

Martina Novak

GLP Zurich

Martina Novak is a member of the city parliament, a keen cook, a big fan of the North Sea coast and responsible for sustainability at Planzer. She wants to be elected to the National Council in order to champion the two concerns closest to her heart: ensuring the climate resilience of business and society, and safeguarding a high quality healthcare system. Andri Silberschmidt

FDP Zurich

Andri Silberschmidt wears two hats. As an entrepreneur, he assists our Board of Directors with strategic matters; as a National Councillor, he champions our social welfare system, the debt ceiling, digitisation and our infrastructures, encourages entrepreneurship as a basis for prosperity and is committed to a liberal society. Taking the campaign on the road

Each candidate’s vision promises a sustainable and progressive political future that will benefit our family-owned business as a backbone of the Swiss economy. An electric truck with Andri Silberschmidt’s branding can be seen on the streets of Zurich until the end of October. The campaign underlines the fact that we are here to support our employees just as they support us.

In the best society

We participate in the political process in Switzerland through consultation processes and our membership of various opinion-forming national and international associations. But that’s not all. We recognise our responsibility towards society and undertake a range of social activities; for example, by participating in the local football club, supporting the scouts, working with the fire service and playing an active role in other communal bodies. Through our combined efforts, we are helping to ensure that people in Switzerland continue to prosper.
